CHARTER OF THE COLLECTIVITY OF SAINT-BARTHELEMY
ON DONATIONS AFTER HURRICANE IRMA

The Charter of the Collectivity of Saint-Barthélemy allows support by the Collectivity for philanthropic actions after Hurricane IRMA consistent with public order and the public service’s principle of neutrality. It brings together the rules of good conduct enacted for the general interest.
ARTICLE I : CERTIFICATION OF A PHILANTROPIC ACTION BY THE COLLECTIVITY
To obtain certification of a philanthropic action by the Collectivity:
1) Certification procedure:
➢ Send your project to this address: firstname.lastname@example.org
➢ The services of the Collectivity and the elected representatives will study each project and, if they meet the criteria of certification, will give their approval for validation.
➢ You will receive, within 3 working days, a response from the Collectivity of Saint-Barthélemy.
2) Your project shall include:
➢ Contact information of the persons in charge
➢ Description of the project and its implementation
➢ Use of funds
➢ Project follow-up
3) Certification criteria:
➢ The Collectivity of Saint-Barthélemy can only certify projects that concern the population of Saint-Barthélemy.
➢ Projects must be philanthropic and non-commercial.
➢ The Collectivity of Saint-Barthélemy reserves the right to remove or reject certification if there are doubts about the philanthropic character of the project.
4) Publication on the website dedicated to donations for Saint-Barthélemy:
➢ The list of certified bodies and actions can be consulted on the website dedicated to donations www.stbarthfondation.com exclusively.
ARTICLE II : ETHICS OF PROJECTS
Projects applying for certification by the Collectivity of Saint-Barthélemy must sign the Charter to act in accordance with the dignity of the human person and public order. Thus, any action of a sexist, discriminatory nature or aiming at religious proselytizing is prohibited.
Project leaders must not make it a lucrative activity and any sale of products using the Collectivity trademarks shall require prior agreement of the Executive Council. This approach is in line with the policy put in place to protect the trademark of the territory and appellations filed by the Collectivity of Saint-Barthélemy with the INPI Patent Office.
ARTICLE III : DONATIONS MADE DIRECTLY TO THE COLLECTIVITY
The Collectivity of Saint-Barthélemy undertakes:
For donations paid with the help of fundraising through an organization or a philanthropic action on a specific need / subject, the Collectivity agrees to use the donations exclusively for this designated purpose.
For donations paid without fundraising but by direct donation to the Collectivity, the latter agrees to use the donations exclusively for:
➢ Assistance to victims for uninsured damage
➢ Assistance to people in difficult circumstances after Hurricane IRMA
➢ Replanting the island
ARTICLE IV : SUBSCRIPTION TO THE PRESENT CHARTER
Subscribing to the principles and procedures defined in the Charter is valid for a single project. If you want to set up several projects, you have to separate them and present them individually.
